For Them What Care

The other day I saw a duck cross a busy 4 lane intersection. It was particularly noteworthy as it crossed using the crosswalk only after the oncoming cars came to a complete stop.

I was shocked that this dumb bird was following rules I so often break.

It took it most of the light just to get to the median. When the light changed to green and the traffic started passing him on both sides he momentarily panicked, lifted into the air about 6 feet, hovered for a second, and then crossed the danger area. My jaw dropped open as even at this point he flew over the crosswalk landing on the other side of the road to continue his walk.

He did this as if it was the most common occurrence in the world. Funny how the gifts we all have can get us into and out of danger...even if we follow the rules.

Oh, and sometimes a story about a duck...is just a story about a duck.

Anyway, for them what care, there it is.
